All your ideas would need to be legislated.

I identify as a doggy paddler
From what I’ve researched in the past ( I don’t have time to look it up) is that due to fact that women naturally hold more body fat than men that they then have more energy to use on endurance runs. That while they are not faster than men due to smaller muscles they can move for longer periods of time due to having more fat energy.
I could be wrong it happens often with me.
your are connecting two different pieces of data. The speed that a person can run a marathon vs. the ability to run a marathon.
What they are stating is that women are better able to run that distance not that they are faster at running that distance than men.
I hope you forgot to put an /s at the end of your comment
I’ve thought about this idea for a long time.
Having sensors in the road (along the side and middle line) and receivers on cars would do a lot of good.
The sensors could tell the car how close it is to the side/middle. They could tell the car how close other cars are around them. They could tell the car the condition of the road surface (ex wet or icy). They could be programmed to the speed limit of the road and keep the cars moving at that speed. Probably many others uses.
The downside is building a sensor that can withstand weather, traffic, crumbling infrastructure. Also they would have to have a way to stay powered up for years. And if you made them re-programmable there is another level of security that needs to be added to them. And then there is the cost to retro-fit all the roads with these sensors and building a common receiver that could be installed on new cars.
I don’t think my idea is practical at all but it’s a cool idea
weight loss is great but as you get older building muscle and strength is just as important - especially if you are female.
Had a guy pass me on the right going 20+ over the limit while taking a bong hit.
I think the four part series called The West by Ken Burns is shorter and probably better.
I have not read the ruling but if this is how it goes then it feels like a slow burn coup by the SCOTUS. The fate of every decision of the president is in the hands of these justices. They now control what is ‘official’ and what is not. They now control the president in some way.
or maybe (hopefully) I’m wrong.
I mean, if we genuinely had a significant amount of local, state and federal law makers that cared about protecting their constituents instead of whatever the fuck they are doing now, we could have some accountability.
Some people just don’t like silly videos I guess …

I’m a little biased but I do look down on men that lack any handyman skills
That is a lot biased to the point that you can’t even see that other men’s lives may have put them in a position of not learning those things or even wanting to learn those things. It’s great that you know how to do those things but just because someone has a penis doesn’t mean they have to learn how to be handy. That doesn’t make them any less of a man, just different from you.
I didn’t voluntarily leave reddit I got banned for some random comment (I honestly don’t know what it was) and the appeals process was bullshit. So I found Lemmy. Haven’t been back to reddit since don’t miss it.
I do appreciate posts like those.
My objective when I look through a comment thread, especially in a topic I don’t know much about, I’m looking for the well reasoned posts. I admit I’m a human (confirmed via captchas) and love to have my opinions validated, but I also like to read a different take on a situation or issue. And because I am not in a situation where I don’t feel like I have to defend my opinion I’m more open to seeing a different perspective.
So thank you for taking the time to write those out - and to others that do that thank you as well.
