TL;DR

  • The Moto Tag is now on sale directly through Motorola.
  • Individual units will run you $29, while a four-pack is $99.
  • The new Moto Tag is backward compatible with Air Tag accessories and even supports UWB.

I was listening to a podcast about a dad who puts air tags in his kids shoes when they go on vacation. And I love the idea.

But I’m extra concerned about privacy and life span. Is this one of those situations where it’s like house cams where everything is transmitting to a foreign nation/government anyways just accept that for convenience?

      Motorola’s website claims:

Android devices can detect Bluetooth® signal from 100 meters, but only you’ll see where your moto tag device is when you open Find My Device1. The entire process is anonymous and encrypted end-to-end.
