As far as I know only Apache uses .htaccess files, Nginx works a different way

It’s not gonna stop it from making an absolute shit ton of money, and that’s all that matters for the studios.
Thank the French for this one
Yup, I totally agree. I’ve been in this situation a few times where I just asked a question because I wanted to know people’s opinion about something privacy or FOSS related, and got downvoted.
I have an IRL friend who went back to Reddit in large parts because of stuff like this. It’s pretty bad.
And I say all this as an open source developer
Welcome to Lemmy where having an opinion even slightly different from the open source/Linux fanboys grants you downvotes to oblivion, no questions asked 🙃
I’m mainly talking about Drive and Pass. I don’t really remember as it’s been a while since I’ve tested them, but the situation doesn’t seem to have changed. Here’s a good thread for Drive. I remember Pass having problems with auto-fill which made it unusable for me.
I have Proton Unlimited but only use two of their services because of this, it’s pretty frustrating.
I love Proton’s mission just like all Lemmy users but I wouldn’t say you can trust them in terms of quality. Apart from Proton Mail and Proton VPN, most of their other products unfortunately have a deep lack of features.
The gameplay is really well done I think. As much as I love 2, the way you move in 3 makes 2 feel old and kinda slow. As long as you play solo it’s really fun, it’s the story that’s utter garbage but everything else is good.
Meanwhile, you’ve been able to use ad blockers on Safari for iOS for years and years. Once the EU forces Apple to let developers publish actual other browsers on the App Store (and not just reskinned Safari), iOS should be pretty great in terms of browsing liberty & comfort.
I do try it from time to time. My last try was with a Pixel 7 and although I loved Material You on it, my main issue was that the quality of apps wasn’t great and most just didn’t feel nice to use (even Google’s own apps feel better to use on iOS).
Didn’t help that the Pixel 7 was way too big and I couldn’t get used to that either, among a few other problems.
I think (hope) it’s sarcasm
Their latest announcements are interesting because they say some of their privacy claims will be verifiable by independent firms (mainly when it comes to their custom built AI servers iirc). Is this actually worth something or is it just marketing fluff?
Just buy used. You get all the goodies without supporting their shitty practices, while not even having to deal with the ethics of piracy. It’s all win.
I feel like people will still be saying this in ten years (sadly)
Yeah if you don’t appreciate cool hardware and only care about raw performance, then it’s definitely not for you
Yeah :( It sucks because I don’t think there are any alternatives, and they’re expensive too for what they are
I don’t know about the 400Mhz part but I’ve had a similar experience with my 2012 Retina MacBook Pro. I replaced the battery multiple times with an iFixit one, and since then the computer has had all kinds of problems (dying at 40% battery, randomly switching off and other similar things). I’m on my third replacement battery, so either I’m really unlucky or there’s something fishy going on
Even in Europe, they’re not really popular. Plus Renault decided they won’t be making a next generation Twingo (which shares its platform with the current Smart car).
Always thought this was a really weird decision since it’s an extremely popular car here in France, but apparently it doesn’t make them enough money.
I’m annoyed by all those Facebook-type boomer comics you see on basically all meme subs. Reddit culture managed to get rid of them, but for some reason people here seem to love them
I was the same until like two months ago when I had to learn Nginx!
