Wait, what did you just call me? 😄
don’t you have to block it back to not see it?
I was wrong. I suspected the file still being in the dir makes it still get used, no matter what name, but the udev man page says only files ending in .rules get used. i understand, you renamed the file ending. you did right?
it’s best when you look for a job while you still have the old one. however, in my region there’s mandatory unemployment ensurance that will pay enough to keep you afloat for a few months between jobs

If you have to ask randos on the web, no.
No no, you misunderstand: It’s like some people are cat people. The skeleton likes cats.

Maybe you can log in remotely to investigate. Like if you have Linux and SSH set up for convenience, you could log in from another PC and check the log buffers/files and /proc, lshw or sensors outputs.

usually you can’t rmmod a module in use. even if it’s deleted from the FS it’s still present until reboot, but if the cipher module you are using was in that package and it also got removed from the initrd (which often is rebuilt after performing changes like that), you won’t be able to decrypt the LUKS container unless you boot another system (e.g. a live USB) that has the cypher module you need.
