I mean not in pedestrian and bike hostile places. But in Germany I was commuting 30km each way daily on an analog bike, no problem.

This is what the “why do you eat fake meat if you’re vegan” crowd doesn’t understand. You typically want to eat what you grew up eating.
Yup same. I always wondered why there was a user folder when we already have home.
I’m so tired of this bubble settings crap. This seems like a step in the right direction.
I totally agree. I guess that’s also what I meant but couldn’t express.
My comment was about our current society. But it applies to lots of things like family relationships, work etc.
The downsides you would only read on Linux communities. My mother couldn’t even begin to understand what snap is about.
I think there’s 2 kinds of people. One kind reads or watches this and thinks “this is horrible and this system should be abolished”, while the other kind thinks “I need to screw others over so I can retain what power I have, and try increase it”. The second kind includes the “temporarily financially embarrassed” who see socialism as a terrible thing even if it would benefit them.
The reason I still choose Ubuntu, or sometimes Mate, specially for other people is because I know it’s highly likely to just work on any laptop I throw it into. Most people don’t care one single bit about the downsides of Ubuntu.
Ubuntu is much less user hostile than windows. My parents only used Ubuntu for the past several years because they inherited my old laptop. They just want to Google stuff, so all they need is a familiar browser.
Oh for the love of Linus, block all notifications requests from websites at the browser level. Comon people accept all notifications requests and get inundated by them.
Was there really that much traffic in the mid 19th century to warrant traffic lights?
Haha. It might explain part of my bad experiences, but I travel to other countries by train as well. But DB has the best and the worst trains.
I’ve been doing lots of travel by train this year and just wish the quality of trains was more predictable. Late trains are usually super dirty. Delays are constant. Access to power plugs to get some work done has been unreliable (both from lack of plugs and lack of power on plugs).
I like it a lot more than flying, as its greener, more comfortable, and there’s free Internet most of the time. And for many trips, it’s faster than flying when you include the way to the airport and the time you spend in security and waiting to board.
I don’t know in America, but I’ve seen banks charge a fee for withdrawals at the counter.
There’s always a yoyo effect with design. I fully expect Google to swing back to gothic palette and highly detailed icon within the next decade.
That’s the problem with neurodivergent disorders. There’s not a single behaviour or symptom that is exclusive to them.
They World governments want to ban Signal and make it illegal to use it. That’s the problem.
I don’t think this is an exclusively autistic feeling. I feel it often.
Unless…
If you want to continue using Signal, you should fight for the right of others to use Telegram. “First they came for them and I said nothing”. The EU and others are trying hard to control people’s private messaging.
Derek made a video years several back where he admits that they ran tests on their videos and that using click bait titles made their videos preform far better. So here we are.
I mean considering people drive a hour each way in many places…
