  • Billionaires own the way most people in the US (the world too) consume their news.

Fox News has been the most-watched news station in the USA for 22 years, trailed distantly by MSNBC and CNN. I very much agree this is the main reason. They’ve been crafting narratives that speak directly to conservatives fears, and keep them in a constant state of panic/hate so that they will vote squarely against their own interests when they elect the guy Fox tells them will solve their problems.

  • That’s always been the easiest way to distill their m.o. – “Fuck you, got mine”

Sometimes i think of wealth disparity in terms of an enormous game of musical chairs. Maybe I’m being naive, but i at least like to think that there’s enough chairs for everyone on the planet to get a seat. People carrying that “fuck you, got mine” mindset are hoarding chairs. The worst offenders are hoarding square miles of chairs. At the end of the day when the shit hits the fan though, everybody only needs/fits on a single chair. All that hoarding for something they’ll never use while denying folks who couldn’t get one at all.

  • Good stuff! I enjoy Banzai Run as well, my buddy and I always get a few rounds on that one at our local pinball haunt. That vertical playfield is super cool!

Never got to clock much time on Indy or Dredd, love AFM though. That’s a game i would consider for my collection someday–that one or Medieval Madness, both are just awesome games. I collect mostly late-70’s/early 80’s solid state games, though i have a particular soft spot for the classic Bally’s and Sterns from that era…

  • Ha!! As an appliance repair guy i learned about reversing the door hinges+handles a long time ago. It never occurred to me to use it for a prank until i was living in my apartment for a few years, and realized it really would make more sense to reverse the hinges to open the door the other way. I moved the hinges, but then it occurred to me that i can leave the handles where they were and prank all my friends when they came over. Unsurprisingly, it works! People usually would figure it out eventually but sometimes we had to intervene if they were getting too rough with it.

I got so used to having it set up that way that once in a blue moon I’d go to open other people’s refrigerators the wrong way (not the best look for a repair tech, LOL)
