Upgrading as soon as BORE patches come out of testing
I’ve tried basically everything under the sun, and keep returning to Thunderbird. Thankfully they’ve fixed the endless amount of performance issues with it.
Everything else is either in a horrible state, abandoned, or paid spyware that used to be a free project originally
During my first two semesters i’ve genuinely had to buy 300$+ bundles of books, literally only because the online single-use code was conveniently placed under the wrapper, with no other way to obtain one
A considerable majority of gen-x people I know have higher no education, just because throwing themselves into the workforce was easier for them. If they do have any, it was practically free too. So realistically, no surprise there
I’ve always enjoyed the identity of the three classes, and the abilities they have, plus gunplay has historically been pretty fun. That said, ever since i’ve started playing, the three things i’ve enjoyed were 1. the raids, 2. the story, and 3. my friends.
Unfortunately, Bungie make it overwhelmingly difficult to have fun in this game, by both making moronic decisions at times, and drip-feeding paying customers content, as if it’s a f2p game on life support. The latter alone has practically made me stop playing recently. You have to pay money to each each season, and all you get is a 30 second cutscene for the weekly story, plus a 10 minute adventure in a zone you’ve already been to a thousand times? Come on
First of all, what the hell is going on with your RAM configuration?
Your first stop should have been the protondb page for your game. Given that most other people report it as running out of the box, then the issue lies somewhere else.
Which proton versions have you tried? Since you have an Nvidia card, what is the driver revision? What desktop environment, and version of it are you using?
I hate to say it, but reinstalling your entire OS multiple times, without doing any troubleshooting, has been a waste of your time
This one is supposed to fix the obnoxious explicit sync bugs, so fingers crossed
Since you have Nautilus, i’m assuming you have the rest of GNOME too.
GNOME Settings should have a default apps tab, so you should be able to change it from there.
Otherwise, org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.terminal exec 'desired-terminal'
, and obviously don’t forget to swap that for whichever one you want to use
I know more than a handful of developers who religiously refuse to learn version control systems, and barely know how to operate a computer in general. It’s more of a mindset issue
My current go-to controller is the Switch Pro pad, however it has a colossal issue in not having analogue triggers. I’m actually heavily considering getting the 8Bitdo Ultimate pad myself
Yeah, pretty much. A lot of their games appear on a 80% sale half the time, and even then it’s still not worth it. It’s not even about the money, it’s about being disrespected by the dogshit they continue to release.
I would rather give my time to a passionate indie studio, where the people put together a genuinely unique experience
Once you go public, you’ve practically forced yourself into aiming for infinite growth. “Just enough” revenue is not in the vocabulary of these people
It’s a cultural issue.
People at Larian had one objective the entire time - making a genuinely good D&D based game. If the money comes, that’s incredible. And it did come.
People at blizzard make games with the goal of making money. The era of making something fun has been long over in this studio
This isn’t Windows, and this isn’t freeware
A lot of people here have such a bizarre stance.
People have put work into this, for free. And the moment they ask for support, you immediately bring the pitchforks out, over a singular pop-up you can permanently disable? That’s just plain disrespectful, at the very least
Being a decent human being - difficulty: impossible
That’s just the standard here, and it’s infuriating
No one’s clairvoyant. Time will tell, if this will become a reality at all to begin with.
Given how people are foaming at their mouth, over the need to integrate chatGPT into everything, that doesn’t need it, I suggest you start worrying about it now, because we’re already seeing the catastrophic consequences today
You really can’t go wrong with it, in the vast majority of cases.
As much as I would love to say that i like btrfs, it’s not without issues. In the 3 years I’ve used it on my systems, I’ve already had one instance of corruption, and one more of complete data loss.
Don’t have any experience at all with bcachefs, but this is the type of thing where it either works, or it just doesn’t, and no one wants it to be the latter
I wish they just stopped making these so often. We’re beyond even generational improvements at this point. We’re barely making any improvements at all
