You replied to someone mocking actual junk they at least pretended to believe at one point so I wanted to point out they actually have said things like this, coz I legit thought you didn’t know. It’s tough if no impossible to find now, so I don’t blame anyone for not knowing or believing this to be the case whole google results are dominated by more recent events involving more recent emulation cases. But they have litteraly in the past made the false claim that emulation itself was an illegal practice. Then later they pretend they never said that and people like yourself never see it. I’ve seen emails from the big N’s legal team making the claim, but it was over 20 years ago. I just have a long memory…

a lot of amazon sellers simply mark working pulls as “refubrished” when all they did was reformat or if you are lucky did a zero fill and check that the sectors weren’t bad.

I don’t trust reburbs that aren’t manufacturer refubished on amy site because its a huge difference in the testing and checking being done.

I do sometimes buy used drives, but I know what I am getting there vs “refubished” - and there is usually a pricing difference which is why so many are dishonestly calling used drives refurbs.

you want to look at the sellers warranty policies. if if they actually have one besides amazons, the seller is confident in their own items longevity

Speaking from experience giving the loudest users real time access to your sanity isn’t great either. Better to corral them into a slower mode of communication, such as an old fashion forum or use githubs “discussions” feature. Then you can spend your weekend on unwinding without a bunch of kids screeching that they’ve been ignored because you missed some message that was checks notes 200 paragraphs of back scrolling.

p.s. its 1000x worse when you inherit this kind of “community” from someone before you who let the monkeys do whatever. All I can say is thank god discord has that slow-mode feature now.

I’d stop spending all my time on trying to survive and poor all my hours into work I want to do instead of have to do. I have a ton of stuff I’d actually want to do that are very definately work but I can’t make a living doing it, so I don’t!

Same. My brain doesn’t want to sleep “early” even if I have gone all week on less than 3 hrs each night, and waking early is pure hell. But staying up and then letting my crash hit at a time I know I will then wake when I -want- to is almost trivial if nobody interferes.

Its partly like that but its MORE so that they are utterly convinced that all thier troubles including that they are poor is some other groups fault, and even when they do have doubts they are unable to express them without fear of losing thier status in thier in-group. So they will keep on voting against thier own interests and blaming the wrong people for the results.
