  • You are only looking at it from your own perspective. There are plenty of people who hate driving and would rather sit on a train and read a book. If all these people would get off the road because they take public transit then there would be less people on the road. So you wouldn’t be stuck in traffic as often. Also people who don’t own a car or can’t drive need to get to places as well. A society should provide good transport for these people as well.

  • And veganism is about living a lifestyle that causes the least amount of suffering. And not solely about not eating animal products. (Cultivated meat can be considered vegan, if it has been produced ethically and no animals or humans suffered) Not giving your cat meat causes suffering so is by definition not vegan.

Side note: Veganism is also about reducing human suffering so cocaine is not vegan. Just a reminder to vegans who use cocaine. Met a bunch of those last week.

  • Time and knowledge. Browsers are basically almost an OS nowadays in capabilities. Yes you can build a basic HTML renderer quickly. But anything beyond that just takes a enormous amount of effort and time especially if you want to make it performant and secure. Like it’s very easy to accidentally introduce a vulnerability that can be exploited by someone. Like the last few generations of Nintendo consoles were hacked and jailbroken trough the browser. And that’s a browser build with WebKit by a team of engineers. Good luck doing it on your own, especially without Chromium or WebKit.
