Yes, exactly, thanks for summing it up so concisely!

Where did I even mention exercise and diet?
This was 20-25 years ago, I don’t think it matters anymore, but I appreciate the sentiment lol
I somehow managed to get through to a radio show that was having a giveaway, and answered their question correctly. I won tickets to a concert, and a load of their sponsor’s merch. I was still young, but even then I knew my luck was shit, so I was really excited even though I didn’t like the band I was going to see lol
Didn’t matter.
The tickets arrived the day after the concert had happened, and the merch was all either factory seconds or used (so all slightly damaged in some way - a stain, an undone seam, a broken clasp). I tried calling to let them know, but all they did was send another load of damaged merch.
Off the top of my head, that’s the one and only thing I’ve ever won.
I really do have shit luck lol
This made me think of
Also, fuck trying to inflict ABA sort of bullshit on ADHD’rs as well as autists, it’s ableist from the core and is all about making us “productive members” of ableist capitalist society, rather than happy well cared for individuals, and is a huge contributor to stress and feelings of inadequacy and of being burden.
Sure, coping strategies are good and important, but they should solely be to benefit the patient, not make the patient more beneficial (and acceptable) to others.
The more inclusive and accessible society is, the less stress marginalised people are exposed to for being “other”.
Meta have already tried, and in an almost unanimous move, users of the fediverse decided to defederate from them to not give them the opportunity to.
Of course they’ll keep trying, but the whole point of decentralisation is that if or when that happens, those who don’t want anything to do with it, just move on to a virtual space away from the corporation.
Sure, it sucks to always be “on the run”, but at least here we can be, vs on a centralised network, where the corporations control 100% of it and we as users have no viable alternative.
To solve the core problem, FOR THE EU, THR ORGANISATION we have to curb the immense grip Big Tech has on our institutions and invest in independent digital alternatives.
They are categorically not interested in solving the core problem of society, and why and how we got to this point in the first place, but simply to maintain the status quo where they are the ones in control (which, while better than active fascism, has and always will be a placeholder for it, as long as they refuse to abolish capitalism).
Don’t be fooled.

I’m just going to leave this here
Glad I could help…
Now to reply to the post itself, I think this sums it up:
Though the sad truth is that almost every single product or service we use are owned and run by people with similar opinions, it is literally the nature of the capitalist beast, it’s how it function, and why it will always decay in to fascism - because those with the power and the money (not just those at the very very top, but several levels bellow them, too, like this guy) will always and forever care solely about maintaining it and creating more for themselves, that’s it. And to do that, they have to side with whichever dictator-du-jour benefits them the most.
Remember - there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and this is only one of the reasons why.

I can’t be the only one who struggled to read that, and for general accessibility purposes since I’m already here:

“The point is that fighting for a more just and equal society is not just about fighting for the fundamental right to privacy but also for all other fundamental rights, including individual rights and life. When you, as the CEO of a company that starts from these principles, nod positively to whatever action a political figure like Trump, who is known for always flagrantly putting his private interests ahead of those of his own nation, makes speeches about eliminating minorities, hurting their rights as citizens and flirting with Nazi movements, it is understandable that members of the privacy community are disappointed as this reveals a little about who is being the face of a company that should follow contrary principles. But now we really know what “freedom” means to you.”
Homelessness doesn’t exist because of a lack of housing.
Social mobility just works in both directions, and about as often.
Yeah, no, that’s a massive streaming pile of self soothing bullshit that isn’t convincing anyone but you.
Let’s say that you have an opportunity to gain billions to fix the society from the top.
Society can not, and never will be, fixed from the top.
Nor is money the solution to our problems, if anything, it is a huge part of the cause (and why communism aspires to a moneyless society, among other things).
So even if I say I’d only accept the money if I could instantly redistribute it, as long as other billionaires, and the systems that create and uphold them, exist, my personal actions would probably make little difference in the long run, and any money I shared would end up right back in their pockets (by virtue of how capitalism works).
I was hoping to find this here somewhere lol
I’ve always had long feet so I never even got long to wear kids shoes (and light up shoes weren’t even around yet during the short time I did lol) and was so jealous of a friend of mine who had tiny feet and could wear all the cute and sparkly and light up shoes she wanted long in to adulthood.
If it was me, I’d absolutely be buying all the fun shoes I could afford. 😂
