This might be a weird one as the game is often blamed for not having difficulty settings, but Elden Ring. While it doesn’t have a straight up setting that says easy, there’s a lot of ways to make the game easier.
I really hate how Fromsoft put the “Prepare to Die” tagline onto Dark Souls when it came to PC and seems to develop into more bullshitty scenarios that kill you in unpredictable ways. Elden Ring has for example a lot of enemies that hold their attack for unintuitively long just to catch you off guard and punish you when you roll on the intuitive timing.
The community is to blame as well for the bad reputation of the games with people making fun of others using big shields and summons to beat the game. And herein lie the difficulty options of Elden Ring:
You can also summon other players but i don’t know if that makes the game easier: As noted above it raised the enemies HP so everyone has to do their part to succeed but if you are a caster you can mostly sit back and blast enemies from afar while your summons tank. Using player summons also opens your world up for invasions and while the invader usually is in a 1v3 situation they also usually know what they are doing and how to deal with such situations.
If you’re still stuck at a boss, just go somewhere else and explore. The game is designed to teach you that lesson with the first actual boss but a lot of people take it as the game just being hard.
All of this is to say: it is okay to use the games integrated mechanics that make it easy. It doesn’t make you less of a gamer. Elden Ring has such a beautifully crafted world and if you’re looking very interesting lore and it’s a shame that seemingly all people talk about is the difficulty. It is actually the easiest Fromsoft title if you want it to be as it gives you a lot more and more powerful tools than the other games.
(Also if you see a chonky looking gal in black full body armour called Sieglinde, summon me. I have great heals, a big chonky sword and love helping people 😘)
Makes sense then that entire YouTube channels got big by explaining said “boring nonsense”.
Literally not, how Elden Ring multiplayer works.
You can’t invade solo host unless they specifically use an item for it
If you are coop you open yourself up for invasions and since a session has a 4 player limit you’re always either in the majority (aka ganking) or on even grounds if you decide to only summon 1 friend and let the invader live long enough for another to show up. If you invade you are pretty much always going to be in a 1v3 situation.
So in German we have different forms of job descriptions depending if the gender of the person. So doctor would be Arzt for a dude and Ärztin for a lass. Now when talking about a mixed gender group of doctors, the plural form of the masculine form would be generally used. This kinda leads to people always thinking about a group of male doctors. To mitigate that, there’s been multiple attempts to make more inclusive forms. For the most time listing both forms was the go to, as in Ärzte und Ärztinnen. The gender star was an attempt to combine it into Ärzt*Innen in which the star was read as a little pause. Other ways to write that pause include ÄrztInnen where you just capitalize the I and my favourite Ärzt:Innen, as the : is read as a pause by screen readers while the star is read as it’s own word by then. My actual favourite form however is gendering after Phettberg which entirely gets rid of the gender and builds a different plural: Ärztis. It also sounds cute and I’m all for more cuteness. That form sadly is used nowhere.
Been the younger sibling to an abusive 4 year older brother. Beating him up wasn’t an option as even small age differences are big regarding strength. All i could do was de-escalate, lock my room (and turn my key slightly because our rooms had the same key shape so he could just push my key out from the outside and unlock it) and hope he doesn’t still manage to get in there. I honestly have no advise for this to op :( My situation ended when my brother got drafted to the military for 2 years or so and when he was back he moved out.
100% agree. While i love showing off my general form some days because I’m proud of myself, it’s never just the chest and if something is visible there it’s by accident and not meant for public viewing. Sometimes it’s very hot out which might get me to put on fairly loose blouses but that’s not for show and more for me to not die of a heat stroke. So unless we’ve been dating for a bit, no, please don’t stare at my chest. If we’ve been dating however, i might do it on purpose 😋
Windows also does not have 100% compatibility. Try playing something like age of wonders 1 on current windows. I could run in out of the box on steam deck but not on my pc that at the time had windows 10. I think Windows no longer has compatibility with win 98 and lower but i might be misremembering.
I’ve looked a bit into the past of this community and there’s quite a bunch of open source projects shared here and none of them had people in the comments complaining about that. Honestly just seems like thinly veiled queer hate to me.
I’m still on the first chapter but it’s awesome. But I got stuck on 2 of the bonus puzzles and age of wonders 4 and Elden Ring both dropped dlc as well so I’m currently playing way too much Elden Ring. I have to say that the philosophising in the first chapter didn’t land with me but maybe that’s because love for me isn’t something to thoroughly analyze.
It has difficulty options but it’s if you use summons, heavy shields and similar stuff. Bosses can become really easy that way if you want to. You could also go for a solo playthrough with no shield for more difficulty.
Elden Ring is both the easiest and hardest Fromsoft game in recent times because of how many really strong things are in it for the player to use. But if you play melee only, the bosses are harder than the old games.
So what you’re saying is you’re scared of the supposed negative impacts on society. The negative impact being less people are depressed and less people kill themselves as they can openly be who they are without someone shoving their heteronormative worldview based on misinformation down their throats. Interesting stance to take
Not part of the discussion but i can really recommend Firefox with ublock origin on mobile. I recently switched a lot of stuff i did in app on mobile back to the browser because of that, like YouTube, and it’s so great finally being rid of ads on mobile.
Because depending on the election result either their opponent gets weapons delivered or they might get them
The same could be said for vegetarians and vegans at some point but about every year i read that meat consumption is down a few percent compared to the previous year in Germany. A single person switching OS doesn’t matter. Getting others to switch who also get others to switch is in the long term changing things.
I was so confused when I read better performance to cost ratio for Nvidia because I’m pretty sure it’s the opposite and i think AMD is better for power consumption as well. Thanks for making me not feel insane.
I don’t see the problem. Sounds like an awesome person
Their link wasn’t to the paper but to the license to poison possible AIs training their models on our posts. Idk if that actually is of any use though
Only interesting game is Sims but even that is now finally getting competition
If you plan to do main story only, I’d say, go for the 2nd. However the first dragons dogma has bitterblack isles which is a giant dungeon designed to focus on pretty much nonstop action and multiple dives in, each getting further down and delivering powerful gear to help you get even further. It really helps to give you post-game stuff to do and i miss it in dd2 to the point of thinking about going back to the first one just for that part of the game
