Varifocal lenses are bulkier and restrict an already limited FOV. For my part I prefer how it is now with the headset maximizing FOV and using aftermarket lens inserts for vision correction, but of course that is much easier for me since I am the only person using the headset
Interesting, I generally prefer the first series over the others, though I haven’t seen the last one yet
Interesting, I see that is pretty new. Some of the documentation must be out of date because it definitely said Nvidia only somewhere when I tested it about a month ago. Thanks for giving me hope!
Wish I could accelerate these models with an Intel Arc card, unfortunately Ollama seems to only support Nvidia
Radicale with CalDAV is what I use, combines well with Tailscale but does need a server to run on
I personally have absolutely no services with an open port to the internet, everything accessed remotely goes through Tailscale. I just don’t trust that I could do it myself safely
This ‘joke’ is not an offhand comment that wasn’t thought through. Someone thought this, found and purchased the sticker, installed it, and lives with it every day. I would definitely cut someone out of my life if they continuously disrespected me like this, at least if they continued to do this after I confronted them about it.
Maybe I am missing something, but why not just shut down the machine for the night?
I know that with Samsung you can set up a ‘routine’ to disable fast charging according to a schedule you manually set. I don’t think it goes all the way down to 5W but much slower than without the limiter
I guess the self hosting equivalent would be logging in to the Jellyfin admin panel and looking at what is being streamed
Using the Index, SteamVR keeps throwing a display not found error for the headset. Tracking seems to be registering but the screens remain black. I saw some people say that replacing the trident cable fixed this issue for them, but I am doubtful since it just works in Windows. I tried the stable, legacy, and beta versions of SteamVR, all to the same effect. Also tried changing the amount of displays connected and what port the headset uses. I imagine it’s some sort of display driver issue (Nobara linux, wayland on nvidia) but I have not been able to figure it out.
I can’t get SteamVR to work in Linux unfortunately, it’s the primary thing preventing me from deleting my Windows partition
Advancements in technology are cool. Who knows what insights we can find developing interesting ideas like this
Logseq, kept up to date on all my devices with Syncthing
I have been using Thumb Key for a few months and while I generally like it, I have not been able to figure out how to remove things like the voice typing, pasting, and undo shortcuts. Every so often I accidentally hit undo while typing, which just erases my whole message irrecoverably since my other thumb hit the next key right after. I wish I could remove all those swipe controls on the side altogether since I never use them.
It’s a pattern that will feel more natural the more you use it
Fiber to the home is pretty neat. I could actually more than double the speed to 3Gb/s symmetrical for about $14 more per month, but frankly even the current speed is way more than I need. Will probably step it down a bit when my promotional discount ends.
Supports downloading a server transcoded file? That’s amazing!
Would like to see an Fdroid version
And it first released a decade ago already (in a couple months)
