If there was a way I could leverage the unlimited bandwidth/storage as an offsite backup, that would be amazing, but I’m not sure it would be a great idea backing up stuff to a webserver where there best security I can add it via an .htaccess file.
Your off-site backup solution shouldn’t have to care about that level of security because you should be encrypting your backups before they leave your network. Even if you have a solid backup host in the cloud, you still want to encrypt your backup data before you send it to their hosted repo.
Unless your vendor has a reason to read your backups, they shouldn’t be able to.
Look into FileFlows, I used that after my tdarr server shit the bed to act as my conversion utility for my media libraries. Done a very good job of transcoding my Library into a consistent format.
If you have any inclination to use docker, they offer a generator to make the compose file for you
I think you misspelled “the internet”
The woods/forest. I love to go forest bathing when the weather and my schedule allows, and camping (even at populated camp sites) is so enjoyable.
Ya got bad hardware friend, the only time I’ve seen a BSOD in the last few years was when something on my work laptop went bad and it had to be replaced. I haven’t seen a BSOD on my personal machine since my last DIMM failure.
I was amazed at the shit they were allowed to play in the after school block on Nick/CN sometimes. Rocco might take the cake with the masterbation milking episode
The spite sounds fun, but giving the customer what they ask for when they want a shit job is still going to reflect badly on you. A lot of the time, potentially problematic customers should just be directed elsewhere to make their data someone else’s problem.
Whether or not you gave them exactly what they asked for, if they don’t have a realistic vision/hardware/site you’re setting them up for a bad time, and they’ll bitch about you because you couldn’t translate the ephemeral concept of an idea that never left their skull into something that looked good or they wanted, and they’ll be sure to tell everyone who made the mess they’re unhappy with.
The owner was a jerk when it came to his ridiculous capitalist expectations, but he did defend his employees from external assholes.
The number of bosses I’ve had that were massive assholes, but had the mentality of “only I get to abuse these employees” is amusingly high.
Between the time it takes to fall back asleep (which is nontrivial), getting ready for and getting to work, you’d be lucky to get 1 full cycle in before you had to get up anyway. And IME, rolling the dice on a rem cycle like that is more likely to fuck up my day by leaving me groggy AF than refresh me.
That’s rough. I took a “mental health” day this week that got turned into a day of running errands, so guess who basically worked all through their mental health day off?
I really wanted to like it, but it just never scratched the itch when I played it. I love stuff like freespace 2, but E:D just never did it for me. Which sucks, because the community search thing sounded really fun at the time.
I was more meaning pronunciation, not spelling. It’s probably spelled that way tho
Wasn’t he closer to Joffrey than Jeff?
Capitalism, an oligarchy that controls major players, and legislation to keep public players out of the game in a lot of places. Even aside from the fact that private companies are able to prevent municipalities from making their own networks, Congress passed taxes to build out a fiber network and let the ISPs do fuck all, to the point that we had been taxed to the tune of $400 BILLION dollars A FUCKING DECADE AGO.
It constantly amazes me the shit our government lets corporations get away with.
For the human that wants everything to smell like cat piss.
That’s almost as bad as spending time upgrading a script only to find out you already updated it and forgot you gave it a stupid name.
Thank the gods for content searching vs file name searching. Only way I can find stuff some day.
Depends on their tenure. If they’re old school Bethesda, nah that’s just you. The people who built the older TES games had much more skill than the people churning out schlock or the 473rd rererelease of Skyrim. The newer people, yeah that’s not a feather in their cap really. Starfield is meh at best, and doesn’t hold a candle to stuff like Morrowind.
Shit post.
Thank you for bringing skywind to my attention!! I was just nerding* out at my girlfriend with nostalgia for Morrowind, can’t wait until that’s playable!
