Many people benefit from world hunger though, and every time you hear that poverty is a hard problem to solve you should ask yourself, how much of that is actual problems and how much is the status quo resisting change?

I remember playing Max Payne. There was some battle in a bar against a guy with a shotgun. If you timed it right between reloads you could run up to the guy, stand on the bar so your guns were exactly level with his face and empty two Uzi clips point blank into his face before he could reload.

Then you would run out of ammo and he would one shot kill you.

Telegram has effectively no security by default. WhatsApp has better security on paper with meaningful end to end encryption. But Facebook still get your meta data and they scan images in the chat to check for illegal data.

That said I basically agree with you for insecure conversations. Telegram might have access to more of my data in a chat but they don’t connect it up with all of the data Facebook has tracking me across the internet.

It’s their culture to complain about everything, except food. All they care about is that it’s as bland as possible and has big portions. If you manage that, they’ll give you five stars every time.

I spent 3 years living in Germany, and not only can you not get anything spicy for love nor money, they also don’t use herbs. It just blows my mind. They’re physically so close to France and Italy, but the food is so far away.

Yeah anything responsible that reports and corrects mistakes made in past reporting gets a low score for factual accuracy, when these should be getting the highest scores.

I tried using the desktop version of word on a Mac last week, and the latency was so bad on a shared document that I had to switch to the web app anyway.

Basically, if you just want to use Linux you’ll be fine. If instead you don’t want to use Microsoft, you’ll probably have lots of problems.

Yeah but they don’t use LLMs for this, they’ll use some other kind of machine learning mixed in a big pipeline of data processing. It makes it really hard to guess how much work it would take to fix. It might require retraining, might just require an easy patch of the rest of the pipeline.

My guess is that they’re just shitty jumpers and there’s nothing to fix anyway.

I mentioned to my partner that a doctor friend thought I had ADHD, and it really helped them not take some of my most annoying traits personally.

I get where you’re coming from with needing an official diagnosis for work accommodations, but none of your friends are really going to demand to see a doctor’s note, so why would personal relationships depend on an official diagnosis?

That’s not how it works.

Parties are at the national level, and form alliances/blocks at the international level in order to get things done. These blocks shift and there is no guarantee that one party will continue to vote with a particular block.

Pick a country. Generally, the political parties in that country will stand for local elections, national elections, and EU elections. At that point you can ask what their politics are. But EU wide parties aren’t a thing.

You can use DNS based adblock, but this tends to break on public WiFi networks.

One other option is to use brave as a web browser. It’s a chrome derivative with a built in adblock. Most browser extensions don’t work on iOS so there’s not many options.

I’m fairly sure most people don’t assume they know why someone said it’s blue, they just don’t care.

People say things to make conversation. It often fails to make sense, but you can just roll with it instead of autopsy-ing the conversation.
