Very nice. I started using zellij a lot and glad it’s getting more and more cool features.
Too much centralization of the Lemmy network happened. A big default choice instance, some others that are medium sized, and several hundreds of tiny instances nobody cares about.
It does make more sense to have a community for an interest too, rather than an entire instance devoted to one area.
I guess it works for porn instances but haven’t seen it work for any others. Porn is good for having alt accounts.
Voting for women’s right is like voting for being able to breathe. Who votes against it?
I hope they aren’t. Diversity is the opposite of chemistry. It may be great for companies but it’s quite bad for finding similar-minded people you can connect with.
Tall women are attractive. So feel better. :)
We have excellent online stores like Zalando that have changed my life. I order, clothes are usually delivered the next day, and returning is as easy as putting it back into the same box and driving to the postal office again. Money back within a few days.
They have perfected the clothes shopping experience for men. No more going to awkward physical shops.
Devops, working with aws infrastructure and networking, terraform, ansible etc. A lot of Linux!
It’s fun and pays well. Recommend it for anyone who gets excited about new open source things and Linux features. I’ve been known to change terminals and editors a lot, and constantly change my neovim plugins and themes, even switching to tiling window managers occasionally.
I’m just having fun and getting paid for it.
I don’t think the definition of a good guy has changed recently…
It’s actually annoying. In aws world, only aws solutions are even mentioned. I notified only after certification that there are many valid use cases for not using Ami’s for example. Aws pretty much recommends making a new ami for every little change you make on servers, and if you have a fleet of hundreds of servers and want to change a small config on them, that means building and replacing hundreds of Ami’s.
Compare that to ansible that can quickly and in parallell make the change everywhere in seconds.
The immutable infrastructure thing sounds really good in theory but has flaws in practice. The benefits are there but at a big time/money/complexity cost.
Yeah manufacturers also list brightness as the highest possible brightness for a single pixel, not the real value of the screen.
As usual, you have to take manufacturers data with a bathtub of salt.
You don’t get asked for them - companies pick someone with the cert before you and you will never know. :)
Many managers have no clue what is even inside a cert, and gets impressed by any cert, including free ones you get for showing up (no tests).
Yeah it has helped me in my career.
I did the most difficult aws certifications but turns out it doesn’t matter - even the intro certs are seen as very valuable by hiring managers, the ones where you just learn the name of services.
I’m happy she is not just a celebrity for looks at least…
I don’t know who it is, thank god.
Oh the exec speaks… 100% true then. /s
Why don’t you go and read scientific papers if you are not interested in opinions and claims?
Humans beings like to exchange ideas and experiences with eachother without being forced to show scientific evidence. Maybe you don’t, which is fine, but maybe not tell others what to discuss then?
Very true but trying to change this attitude…no fun being home all the time.
