I was a paramedic back in my 20’s and 30’s. Constant crisis mode. I am a master of that shit. Clearest I ever am is in complete and utter chaos. That shit breaks your brain even worse though.

Imagine what you see and do every day as a paramedic. Now make it 100 times worse than you can even imagine and immerse yourself in it every day. The worst people have to offer as your daily routine. That is not good for anyone. PTSD is real. Added to ADHD it’s a nightmare as we have been told repeatedly by doctors and researchers who study it.

I get shit done. But it also accumulates stress & the reason for crisis might not be relevant or sensible. But I guess it floats the goat, and I have no (good) other options.

Yeah, I think it’s pretty evident in my case already. I used to intentionally rely on adrenaline from stress to do my job.

Then again, it’s not like I wanna live that long anyway, but I think stress worsens the later quality of file as well.

No I mean like shit is on fire crisis. It calms me down because my full attention can be focused instead of having the background track monkey jumping everywhere

I go shopping there every day, got a loyalty card but I refuse any discounts offered & insist to always pay in full.

In came here from All, I like your memes but I am confused: what’s the deal with the 70% of belongings gone? Are they just AWOL or something else?

A lot of people with adhd have bad memories. Well a certain kind of memory. Very easy to either forget where something is, or take it with you somewhere and forget you have and then leave it. I’ve lost so many coats that way.

Is misreading things because your brain is 10 steps ahead part of this list? Cause I definitely read AD Home Depot.

Honestly? Yeah. From what I can tell with personal experience anyway. My brain will speedread things by looking for keywords in something and then putting them together in a way that makes sense. However when you’re doing this if you encounter something that’s unexpected, it can either cause the whole train to derail or the train to just run over that one thing and mangle it so you completely misunderstand what you read.
