He was planning on retiring after the game was published, though, so he eventually settled on Final Fantasy. Still didn’t work out, though, because he directed 1-5 and then contributed to 6-10.
I’ve never played these games but after 16 I’m starting to think they are gaslighting us with the word “Final”.
16 is also close to the 50th game that they’ve released, according to Google.
