Even IF (and that’s a mountain sized if) the timing of the announcement was an attempt to bury the story, that would actually be a good thing.

It would be a good thing to try to avoid that the unproven allegations of a party to the conflict (with a track record of constant lying and a clear agenda of stopping all aid to Gaza) against a dozen aid workers harm the 15.000 other aid workers and the millions of Palestinian civilians who desperately depend on their aid.

Most of the reactions happening right now are despicable. Countries are withholding funding for vital aid to victims of genocide, famine and disease outbreaks with little to no access to medical care based on unproven claims from known liars with a publicly declared policy of lying and fabricating evidence when “necessary”.

Spain should be the rule here, not the exception.

I doubt the intelligence they transferred is only about the 12, given the size and immediacy of the reaction. Those are the ones they were able to most easily prove using Hamas’ own footage of October 7th.

My guess is they passed a list with a lot more than 12 to each of those countries, and said “watch how many they fire”.

Bottom line is that it isn’t in Israel’s best interests to stop all aid - they want to avoid a true humanitarian crisis (as opposed to the current threat of one) to achieve the war goals: return the hostages and destroy Hamas. UNRWA is best positioned to provide aid, but the proof on the ground is that they aren’t distributing that aid effectively at all and people are suffering as a result.

Based on what? The moment the 9 had been fired, countries started pulling funding in a panic, seemingly convinced that the “intelligence” from the Israeli government was genuine, which is never a wise first assumption.

Those are the ones they were able to most easily prove using Hamas’ own footage of October 7th.

Nothing has been proven. All of it is only based on information by the Israeli government that might well be fabricated. Since that’s something they do all the time and right after a PR hit like the ICJ preliminary judgement would be the perfect time to make shit like this up.

Bottom line is that it isn’t in Israel’s best interests to stop all aid - they want to avoid a true humanitarian crisis

Absolutely not true. It already IS a true humanitarian crisis, which serves their mission of killing as many Palestinians as possible perfectly.

(as opposed to the current threat of one)

It’s a THREAT in the same way as there is a RISK of climate change due to human actions 🙄

the war goals: return the hostages and destroy Hamas

        Oh you sweet summer child…

The proof on the ground is that they aren’t distributing that aid effectively at all and people are suffering as a result.

What proof? More Israeli government propaganda that you have chosen to believe without questioning?
