its not the servers or the domain name that makes reddit valuable, its us the people. we are what bring value to their platform. may freedom of speech live on ✊

No for-real, just came from Reddit as well, and so far this app is pretty amazing.

Awe thank your LordCrom much appreciated. I am still learning and seeing how to maneuver through this app. Trying to whisper to a couple of my friends that there’s an app better than Reddit, and to join us.

I have the voyager on iOS, which I assume is the only provider for this Lemmy. When this phone dies out I will be switching to android and I’ll just have to shop around. So far I am very very impressed with the UI and the application itself.

I’m also using Voyager on android. There are other apps, like Sync if you had used it for reddit. There are dozens of apps and instances you can use, so if there’s ever anything you don’t like, you can probably find an alternative.

Is Sync only for android? I only see voyager as the only app for iOS/iPhone users. And if I was to switch to android is it only through apk or are there multiple applications that you can use for Lemme on google play store?

I’m not an iOS user, but I checked the app store website and I can see several apps. Voyager, mlem, Arctic, Thunder, Avelon, Echo to name a few.

Not sure what you mean by ‘only apk’, every android app is an apk. That’s what the play store distributes too. But yes, there are several options on Google Play as well. Voyager, Sync, Connect, Boost, Summit, Eternity, Thunder, Jerboa, Raccoon, etc.

I personally have tried more than half of those, and every one has some design aspects that I dislike, but I settled on Voyager for now. Still hoping that the Rif developer ports their old reddit app

Start subscribing to communities across instances - it will drastically improve your feed quality and the overall Fediverse at the same time.

In the Fediverse, note that when you hit “All or New” you’re only seeing the instances that people on your server have already subscribed to at a previous point in time. By subscribing to new communities on separate instances, you’re opening a gateway for other users on the server to start discovering it as well.
