I’m not saying the GOP won’t do it but getting mad before anything happens will create a avenue of attack for the GOP or make you look dumb when it doesn’t happen.
If the left gets in the habit of calling foul before anything is done when the actual bad news hits it will be less impactful.
Normally I would say let it be but with how much the GOP depend on voters in their party that benefit from Medicaid they are actively trying to soften the blow for when they actually do it.
This issue is a powder keg and if we flinch before it goes off we put ourselves in the blast zone.

I’m not telling you to wait. There are 1000 issue to act on, today. You just keep blowing past my one and only contention. It’s not about going high or low. It’s about not playing into the traps set by the GOP. There are larger strategies at play. There is no reason a left wing circle jerk like reddit needs to resort to disinformation. It doesn’t help, and it actually hurt us.
How? It has literally not hurt the GOP even a little bit. If anything, it’s strengthened the base. We aren’t a different species, and the crowd dynamics at play are similar.
It seems pretty easy that this is some kind of psy op to spread apathy.
It’s just that easy to spin things online. Let people do what they want to do, we aren’t a monolith. We can all operate how we see fit.
If you haven’t noticed the GOP operate like a cult. If you want to do that, good luck cause I’m not going there. I do let people online do what they want. There is literally nothing I can do to stop it. I will speak against it, though.
Sure, but they are a cult in power. If I have to choose, I choose the cult I can identify with.
I just think it’s dumb to turn your nose up at the message because part of it isn’t true. Absolutely, dispel the untrue parts. We don’t disagree there, but it’s not all or nothing; true parts still exist within. Help give people the tools to see the error in part, not just blanket disavow.
In my opinion, that is. I’m not a political strategist, otherwise I’d be working with the devil on selling defective baby carriages in Africa. Or “Cyber trucks” as we call them here in the US.
It’s not a matter of whether the cult works or not. The left just simply can’t transform into over night. We have to be what we are and transform into cult should be the last thing on our list of things to do.
I’m not going to die clinging to old ideals. I have friends, family, colleagues, and clients who will be negatively physically and mentally affected by changes proposed. When it comes down to it, I’m not going to care about accuracy of the message. They’ve shown no regard for rule of law, constitutionality, or empathy or concern for others. I get it, “don’t become them”, but I’m not going to let myself get hung up on those details anymore. It’s a different game now.
