I saw him in a clip of the metal band performing, which was also fucking wild. Couldn’t tell if it was explicitly AC: Unity based (which would be odd to single out, imo) or just a generally historical outfit. Gonna have to watch the whole thing at some point.

Considering that both were designed with the same historical period and location in mind, that’s not surprising. But the hood? And parkour? That can’t also be a coincidence, can it?

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Your take is completely fair. Parts of the ceremony were great. Gojira playing on the side of the Conciergerie was fuckin amazing. But on the whole, I thought the pacing of the whole event was terrible and lacked energy. Plus those fuckin NBC commentators would not shut the fuck up.

They tried to pack in a ton of stuff but didn’t really put it all together in a way that pulled me in. Was surprised to see Gojira and would agree they were good. The commentators were annoying too.

He appeared in little snippets over the course of several HOURS, so it is hard to catch just him. It was not a direct copyright infringement of Ezio or Arno or any other Ubisoft property because the costume included a fencing mask and had different details, but yeah, the first thing I thought was “Assassin’s Creed”.

The band was Gojira and I posted translated lyrics here: https://beehaw.org/post/15211295 and @squirrel@discuss.tchncs.de kindly posted a streamable link.
